Non-Point Source (NPS) Pollution
  Non-point source (NPS) pollution is surface water or ground water pollution originating from diffuse areas without well-defined sources. Common examples of NPS pollution are agricultural runoff containing pesticides, and contaminated runoff from mining operations. See also, Point Source (PS) Pollution.
